Committed to address grievances of Kashmiri migrants:J&K govt

The Jammu and Kashmir government today said that it was committed to provide relief and other basic facilities to the Kashmiri migrants and address their grievances.
"Government is committed to provide all basic facilities to the migrants and any lapses in this regard will be dealt seriously," Minister of State for Relief and Rehabilitation Ajay Nanda said chairing a meeting of officers here.
He said a proposal for release of funds for purchase of ration has been moved to the Finance Department which would be approved soon.
In future, the Kashmiri migrants would not face any inconvenience while getting their quota of ration, he said.

Nanda, who is also MoS for Finance, Planning, and Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution, said Talwara migrants would also get ration at par with Kashmiri migrants.
In this regard, the minister said the effect of issuance of ration to these migrants would be given from November 18, 2015.

During the meeting, discussions were held for providing hassle-free ration, relief, healthcare, water supply, electricity, and other basic amenities to migrants, an official spokesperson said.
Nanda stressed for early issuance of bifurcation of ration cards, and instructed officials to simplify the process.
He also reviewed the status of distribution of relief people affected by the devastating September 2014 in the state.

He was appraised by officials that cent per cent relief was provided to the flood affectees under the State Disaster Response Fund and Prime Minister's National Relief Fund, while the distribution of relief under TAMIER is being provided to affected families.
