Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister of N Chandrababu Naidu today said his government was committed to fulfilling all the promises his party had made before coming to power in the state.
"After the bifurcation, Andhra Pradesh has been facing several problems...Especially financial. Nevertheless we have fulfilled some of the promises that we had made during the elections," Naidu said while addressing a meeting of government officials and District Collectors here.
He added that the amount of pension given to poor widows, senior citizens and physically-handicapped has been enhanced and about 45 lakh are benefited due to this.
According to Naidu, electricity is being supplied to all households without any interruption by bringing the 22 million units deficit down to zero.
The government is contemplating to link Godavari, Krishna and Pennar rivers to provide water all lands in coastal districts for two crops and also to supply water for drought-hit Rayalaseema districts through Srisailam irrigation project to feed their land with drip irrigation.
He said ports would be developed along the state's coastline under the Centre's 'Sagar Mala' project and the state would be transformed as "threshold" of south-eastern countries.
"My vision is that Andhra Pradesh would be transformed into number three city in the country by 2019 and reach to the top by 2029," he said.
The Government has announced to provide 'Sankranthi' (pongal gift) for the poor families in the state with six essential commodities at an estimated cost of 325 crore.
