According to a government order in this regard, the committee will include ministers from Departments of Agriculture, Horticulture and Minor Irrigation, top officials of the government, sugar factory management and sugarcane growers.
It comprises, among others, Agriculture Minister Umesh Katti, Horticulture Minister A Ravindranath and Minor Irrigation Minister Govind Karjol.
The issue of fixing the Minimum Support Price for sugarcane has led to continuous struggle by the state's farmers, official sources said.
During his meeting with the sugarcane growers and sugar manufacturers on August 31, Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar had assured constitution of a committee to ensure lucrative price for farmers and according them a share in the profit out of sales of the byproducts produced in sugar factories.
Official sources said the government was awaiting the outcome of the C Rangarajan Committee appointed by the Centre to go into sugarcane pricing and profitable running of cooperative and other sugar mills.
