Deputy CM has sorted out the long pending issues of Pyrolysis industry by constituting a high level committee led by Secretary Industries to issue no-objection certificates (NOCs) after physical verification of units by September 10, an official release said.
Presiding over a meeting of delegation of Tyre Pyrolysis Association, Badal heard the grievances of industry pertaining with Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB).
The delegation led by association president Satpal Gupta apprised Deputy CM that their units has been sealed by the PPCB due to apprehensions of huge pollution hazards, higher risks of fire incidents and flouting pollution control norms in the state.
After a detailed discussion with the delegation, Deputy CM directed Secretary Industries D P Reddy to lead a committee comprising Director Factories, Town and Country Planner, GM Industries and Chief Fire Officer for physical verification of existing 40 to 50 tyre pyrolysis units.
He directed that physical verification should be completed before September 10 and units following the parameters of PPCB and Fire Department should not be sealed.
Badal also directed the industry department and Pollution Control Board that in future the tyre pyrolysis units would be setup only in the designated areas, including Focal Points and Industrial Zones.
