Commission's Chairperson Justice Vijender Jain, while presiding over the concluding session of a two-day conclave of All India State Human Rights Commissions here, informed this.
Justice Jain said that Justice Nisar Ahmed Kakru, Chairperson, Andhra Pradesh Human Rights Commission, and Justice S R Bannurmath, Chairperson, Maharashtra Human Rights Commission, would be the members of the said committee.
It has been decided to constitute another two-member committee comprising Justice P K Misra, Chairperson, Goa HRC, and Justice Bilal Nazki, Chairperson, Bihar HRC, to enhance literacy on various aspects of human rights at the village level in the states, an official release said here.
Haryana is the first state to have convened the national conclave to discuss various issues pertaining to effective implementation of the Protection of Human Rights Act.
The Protection of Human Rights Act was passed in 1993 to protect the rights of all, especially women, children, Scheduled Castes and weaker sections of the society.
