Authorities at PGIMS here have constituted a two-member committee today to probe into the death of a newborn delivered outside the emergency ward.
The committee will investigate the matter and submit its report to the authorities for further action.
The patient, identified as Meenu, is undergoing treatment at the ICU after a surgery in the PGIMS this morning and her condition remains to be critical.
Meenu, wife of a labourer, was referred to the PGIMS yesterday from a hospital in Hisar, in critical condition.
The security guard outside the emergency gate didn't allow them entry in the evening and their repeated pleas with doctors and guards went in vain, the woman's kin alleged.
The woman finally delivered in the bushes outside the emergency gate and the baby died soon after, they alleged.
"We have constituted a two-member-committee comprising Dr Geeta Gathwal and Dr Dhruv Chaudhary to look into the matter. The committee will probe from various angles and submit. Action will be taken against those found guilty in the investigation," said Dr Chand Singh Dhull, Director of PGIMS-Rohtak.
