He initiated consultations with farmers from Mekavanipalem, Tavisipudi and Manginapudi villages, adding that the Machilipatnam Port would benefit people and result in multi-dimensional development of Krishna district.
He requested farmers to come forward co-operate with authorities assuring that no farmer will be victimised during land acquisition.
He said that the date of issuing the draft notification to acquire 2,800 acres of private land would be fixed in consultation with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, with the co-operation of farmers.
