The Open Platform for Netaji today lodged a complaint with the Election Commission against alleged misuse of the name of Subhas Chandra Bose by Trinamool Congress candidate from Jadavpur parliamentary constituency Sugata Bose.
"Netaji's clarion call 'Chalo Delhi' to oust the British Raj from India is also being inappropriately used by Prof Sugata Bose to describe his party's ambition to capture power in Delhi and form the central government," the complaint by the platform, an initiative to unite all Netaji followers, said.
A number of members in the forum were from Netaji's family, while Bose was also from the same family.
"This is trivialising the valiant battle fought by the Indian National Army where hundreds of soldiers laid down their lives for the freedom of their motherland," it added.
It also alleged that Bose was campaigning accompanied by a child in military uniform, which contravened the fundamental thrust of the International Convention on the Rights of the Child.
"The allegations are being looked into if it is in gross violation to the Model Code Of Conduct," CEO, Sunil Gupta said.
