Vasava denied the allegation saying the decision about the grant had been taken unanimously by a committee of local MLAs, district development officers and members of Taluka Panchayat and the complainant himself was a part of it.
Chairman of Valiya taluka panchayat Raju Vasava filed the complaint before the Chief Judicial Magistrate's court on Monday.
It says that the minister, during 2005 to 2010, allocated a grant of Rs 28,85,055 for tribal development works to Jay Mataji Education Trust, an NGO, which is not a tribal organisation.
The complaint seeks action against them under sections 406 (breach of trust), 408 (breach of trust by a public servant) and 114 (abatement) of the IPC.
"This is a political move against me, as the Taluka panchayat chairman was himself in the body which decided to allocate the grant," Vasava told PTI, pointing out that the complaint was being filed after four years.
"The grant was allocated for the development of tribal students, so it cannot be said it was allocated for a non-tribal organisation," he added.
