The minister gave this direction during his visit to the project site yesterday along with his party legislators to assess the construction work.
He said the construction work should be completed quickly to protect the interests of the farmers.
The foundation stone of the Pulichintala irrigation project on Krishna river was laid in October 2009 by the then Chief Minister Dr Rajasekhara Reddy. However, the project got delayed for over five years due to technical, legal and financial constraints and its cost also escalated to Rs 1,860 crore.
