All IAS officers have been asked by the Centre to complete the mandatory mid-career training, failing which they may lose promotions and other benefits.
The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has written to states and central government ministries to ensure that eligible IAS officers undergo the training.
"I may also point out that mid-career training is a mandatory training programme launched with the objective of improving their next level competencies at specified stages of their careers," the DoPT letter said.
Accordingly, suitable directions may be issued to all eligible officers to enroll themselves online to undergo this (Phase IV) of mid-career training programme at the earliest so that the officers do not attract the provision of IAS (Pay) Rules, 2007 denying them promotion, it said.
A list of 211 eligible IAS officers has been sent with the DoPT letter asking the states and secretaries of central government ministries to provide them with the names of other officers eligible to attend the training.
All suitable IAS officers have been asked to enroll themselves for the 10th round of mandatory Phase IV training scheduled from April 6 to May 22 at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) in Mussoorie.
There are 4,619 IAS officers working at the Centre and in the states against their sanctioned strength of 6,270.
