"The total loss has been estimated at around Rs 14,000 crore," Banerjee told reporters at the secretariat today.
So far 152 persons have died in the flood in the 11 districts in northern and southern parts of West Bengal while over 10 lakh acre of agricultural land was inundated in it.
The monetary value of the total loss has been estimated at around Rs 7000 crore and nothing was received from the central government as aid, according to a senior official of the agricultural department.
The agriculture department, the officer said, has almost completed 94 per cent distribution of seeds to the farmers in the 11 flood-hit districts of the state.

"The total cost for the seed distribution has been Rs 10 crore," he said adding that mostly vegetable farms had been ravaged in the recent floods.
"We are planning to distribute vegetables' seedlings to the farmers primarily because they can be grown quickly. Seeds of vegetables like spinach, corriander leaves have been distributed," he added.
"Overall situation is fine and is improving everyday. Distribution of relief funds continue and block development officers and district magistrates are supervising the process," a senior officer of the state disaster management department said today.
As per a report of the disaster management department, nearly three lakh houses were fully damaged while close to 55000 were severely damaged and over 52000 were partly ruined.
So far, close to 1.5 crore people have been affected in the floods in the state, it said.
