"In order to enhance their work opportunities, a computer lab has been set up in collaboration with HCL Foundation," Saumya Gupta, Director of the Department of Women and Child Development of the Delhi government, said.
"Children who are separated from their families get admitted in these homes where all efforts are made to restore them back to their families," Gupta said.
Initially, two batches comprising 12 children each would be given training in fundamentals of computer functioning including MS office and use of internet, she said.
"Once their basic training is completed, HCL Foundation is also committed to organise advanced or specialised courses in IT for the benefit of the children depending on their performance," she said.
"The initiative is aimed at not only imparting functional skills to perform well in school but would also help them secure employment in future," said Gupta.
