The Chief Minister sought inclusion of English language in the curricula of Madrassas.
Dikshit was speaking at a meeting in which National Minorities Commission chairperson Wajahat Habibullah reviewed the quality of education being provided to students from minority communities.
"The Government is initiating the process of providing computers in registered Madrassas to ensure that muslim students benefit from information technology," she said
Listing initiatives to improve educational facilities for minority students, she said Delhi Government has decided to open 20 new schools which will offer Urdu as one of the subjects.
The meeting was attended by Education Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely, Delhi Minorities Commission chairman Safdar H Khan and top officials of Education and SC, ST Welfare department.
Habibullah wanted to know about the steps being taken by Delhi Government to improve educational infrastructure for students from minority communities.

Responding to the querry the Chief Minister said 262 Urdu teachers have been appointed in various schools recently as part of efforts to promote the language.
The Government has also relaxed condition for clearing the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) test for appointment of Urdu guest teachers so that adequate number of teachers to teach the language can be appointed. (more)
