The third academy of dentistry international global conclave was held at the Saveetha Dental College near here recently.
Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam inaugurated the conclave.
"The conclave endeavours to create opportunities in continuing exchange of knowledge and expertise for improving the global level of oral health," Health and family welfare minister Vijayabhaskar was quoted as saying in a press release.
Panneerselvam said deliberations during the conclave would help design a model for oral healthcare making it truly affordable and accessible and solve one of the biggest public challenges of developing countries like India.
Saveetha Institute of Technical and Medical Science, chancellor N M Veeraiyan and Academy of Dentistry International President Dr Gerhard K Seeberger and senior officials were present, the release said.
