The 50th Indian Orthodontic Conference, to be held at Hyderabad International Convention Centre, will focus on popularising the study of orthodontics, organisers said today.
The event, organised by Indian Orthodontic Society - which is celebrating its golden jubilee in 2015 - will be inaugurated by Union Minister of State for Science and Technology Y S Chowdary.
The conference will have over 2,500-plus delegates from India and abroad discussing the theme "celebrating 50 golden years of celebrating smiles", K Sateesh, Organising Chairman, in a release said.
According to Sateesh, the conference's aim is to spread the practice of orthodontics and educate people about its importance.
"Role of teeth in better chewing and digestion cannot be undermined. Well aligned teeth and jaws are very important. The conference will take the latest in this specialisation close to the people," the Organising Chairman added.
