Conference on police gallantry award winners in Delhi

Top officials of the Union Home Ministry and central police forces will meet here this week to discuss various issues related to gallantry medal winners and their families.
The meeting, under the aegis of the All India Police Gallantry Medal Awardees Welfare Association, is expected to be chaired by Union Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju with paramilitary and central police chiefs in attendance.
During a press event here, NDRF Director General O P Singh said this is the fifth edition of the conference and brave men of the disaster response force will also be awarded during the day-long conference on September 11.

A workshop and discussion will be held on the said day to discuss and find solutions to the problems being faced by such braveheart veterans and their families, CRPF Inspector General (Personnel) R K Mishra said.
A host of issues with regard to honouring their heroic tales and sacrifices among the young generation will also be taken up during the conference, he said.
An association for these brave personnel was formed in 1996.
