The 30-year-old "Dance Like We're Making Love" hitmaker feels as though she's in the music industry to "represent the ladies", reported Allure magazine.
"I have this idea in my mind that while I'm out here doing my job that I kind of feel like I'm doing it for other women like myself. I'm representing the ladies, so I always want to have my best foot forward," she said.
"I also know that the only way you can really survive in this world is by being confident. It's a true reality for me, especially having a child. I have to be confident not only for myself, but for him, too. Confidence is key to survival.
