Congress today filed a complaint with the election body here, demanding removal of the photos of Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal from the '108' ambulance service in view of model code of conduct enforced for Lok Sabha polls.
In the complaint submitted to Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) V K Singh, Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) chief Partap Singh Bajwa appealed to the CEO to issue necessary directions to the government to remove the photos of Badal from the ambulances.
The party said that as Badal belongs to ruling SAD-BJP combine and the alliance is contesting the parliamentary elections in the state, the photographs of the Chief Minister on the ambulances are in violation of model code of conduct and would influence the voters.
The government-run ambulances, which are available by dialling 108, carry photographs of Badal.
