The situation would not have worsened had the district administration taken stringent action against the culprits on the very first day of the incident, DCC President Vijay Khan told a press meet here.
"We do not have any intention to politicise the issue but the way the situation turned worse, we believe the district administration was not allowed to handle situation properly," Khan said in a serious charge.
Accusing laxity on the part of East Singhbhum district administration in handling the communal violence in Mango here, he said the situation would not have turned worse had the administration acted immediately after the alleged eve-teasing incident on Monday.
Even the intelligence of the administration was a failure causing the communal flare up in the city, which was known for its communal amity, Congress said.
Jamshedpur has been known as Mini India as a cosmopolitan city and people from across the country irrespective of their caste and creed have been living here for decades in peace but some mischievous elements wanted to destroy it, they claimed.
