This is the second candidate in Gujarat that Congress has changed so far.
"The Central Election Committee has decided to give ticket to Punja Vansh instead of Jashu Barad," party spokesperson Manish Doshi said, adding that the decision was taken after consultation with the state and central leadership.
The change came after the ruling BJP fielded Rajesh Chudasama, a member of Koli community, for the seat.
"The Congress has changed the candidate and given ticket to Koli community member Vansh who is a sitting MLA from Una assembly constituency to give a fight to BJP on the Junagadh seat," party sources said.
Congress had given ticket to Narendra Rawat, but after the BJP announced that Modi would contest from Vadodara, they gave ticket to Madhusudan Mistry.
