The Congress today slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi not only for allegedly taking credit of UPA projects but also remaining "silent" during the BJP activists' hooting of chief ministers of different states.
"Modi is taking credit of previous UPA government's projects. And his remaining silence during BJP activists' hooting at chief ministers, shows the party is deliberately indulging in insulting the CMs," former union minister Subodh Kant Sahai said here.
Stating that the hooting of Chief Minister Hemant Soren during a function in which Modi was present, the Congress leader said the incident had left a "deep impact" in the minds of the people.
PCC general secretary Alok Dubey said, "It has been a deep conspiracy by the BJP to humiliate chief ministers of election-bound states like Jharkhand, Haryana and Maharashtra, and the BJP activists ignoring Modi's request to keep quiet is evidence enough for a conspiracy."
Dubey demanded that Modi express regret at the BJP activists' hooting of Jharkhand CM Soren during the function as the Prime Minister was present there.
RJD's Jharkhand unit spokesman Manoj Kumar also condemned the incident and demanded an apology.
Soren heads the JMM-Congress-RJD alliance in the state.
