"The Congress government in Punjab did nothing on the developmental front during 2002-2007 (Amarinder Singh's regime) and cannot list even a single achievement," he alleged.
Taking a jibe at the party, Sukhbir said it considered "patchwork on roads" its "greatest achievement".
He was referring to Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Charanjit Singh Channi's reply to his question during the last Assembly session. On being asked to list the achievements of the Congress regime in Punjab, Channi had pointed at "patchwork on roads".
He said the capital city of Chandigarh belonged to Punjab "forever" and the state would get its legitimate rights.
Claiming that the achievements of the ruling combine in the state over the last nine years were "matchless" in terms of development, Sukhbir challenged the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Delhi, headed by Arvind Kejriwal, to match its success stories of the last two years with those of the SAD-BJP in Punjab.
He alleged that the AAP had given "nothing" to the people of Delhi other than "empty promises" and added that in Punjab, its aim was to "wage a war against the people".
