"Congress continues its tradition of spreading lies. The latest is its tweet saying RSS trained people at Jawahar bag for violence," RSS communications head Manmohan Vaidya said on twitter.
Viresh Yadav, the 'security officer' of Ram Vriksh Yadav, the cult leader whose supporters had encroached upon Jawahar Bagh leading to clashes with the police that left 29 people dead, had yesterday claimed that an RSS volunteer from Agra had trained the squatters.
"Media reports on RSS conducting Iftar party are factually incorrect. RSS is not organising any such party. Muslim Rashtriya Manch (MRM), organising Iftar Party, is an independent Muslim organisation to create national awareness.
"RSS shares views of MRM on national issues and supports national awareness programmes of MRM as any national cause. Indreshji, senior RSS functionary, keeps contact with MRM. He doesn't hold formal position in MRM," Vaidya also said.

"We are trying to locate this person (Rajvir Singh) and his alleged RSS links are being investigated," he added.
Accusing RSS of 'appeasing' Muslims by organising an 'Iftar' party for them on July 2, the Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha, a lesser-known Hindu outfit, yesterday sought cancellation of the event and an apology from the Sangh.
The Mahasabha said that Keshav Hegdewar had founded RSS to serve the interests of Hindus but the Sangh is now serving Muslim interests instead, for which it should apologise.
