Mishra, who also happens to be the spokesman of the state government, talking to reporters accused the Congress in the state of creating "hurdles" through the Central government in the purchase of wheat.

Mishra alleged that it was only because of Congress' designs that farmers in some areas appeared to be "dissatisfied".

All arrangements regarding the purchase have been finalised and all the grain produced by the farmers would be bought by the state government, he said.

Mishra also dismissed the reports of a 55-year-old farmer in Raisen district committing suicide due to distress, asserting the farmer died due to "food poisoning".

Meanwhile, opposition leader Ajay Singh today dismissed the state government's claim that the Congress was trying to mislead the farmers on the issue of wheat purchase.

"At a time when farmers are unable to sell their wheat due to lack of proper condition, it is pointless to blame Congress for the situation", Singh said.

If the state government was doing its work earnestly, the Congress would have been unable to create any confusion per se, he said in a lighter vein.

"I appeal the state government to do its work properly instead of blaming the Congress for everything", Ajay said.
