"A seven-member delegation comprising Congress MLAs would soon visit Allahabad to review the works being carried out through Rs 800 crore central funds," Congress Legislature Party leader Pradeep Mathur said.

The Congress leader claimed that the state was making massive demands for central funds under various heads, but it has been able to spend only about 15,000 crore of Rs 23,000 crore allotted till November with only three months to go this fiscal.

He alleged that the development works of opposition MLAs, specially those belonging to the Congress, were not being carried out despite assurances from the chief minister.

Claiming that utilisation certificates of centrally funded schemes were not being sent, he said the state should have a separate department for preparing advance detailed project reports (DPRs).

He asked Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav to pull up his officials and hold meeting of DMs and SPs as the government needed to act at the ground level.

Mathur said PCC meeting has been convened for December 26 in which details of agitation against law and order situation, lack of development works and better State Advisory Price (SAP) for sugarcane would be chalked out.

To a question on whether Chief Minister should resign after SC asked the CBI to continue probe against him in disproportionate assets case, Mathur said resignations were not given only on the basis of probes and that it was too early to speak on the issue.

When asked to comment on Akhilesh government cancelling holiday on Ambedkar's death anniversary, Mathur said it was not good and the government should have desisted from it.
