A Congress delegation led by PCC President Kishore Upadhyay today called on Chief Minister Harish Rawat and demanded a formal inquiry into all alleged scams which took place during successive BJP governments in the state.
The 50-member delegation which met the Chief Minister at his residence alleged that a maximum of 419 scams were detected during successive BJP governments in the state and demanded that formal inquiries be launched into all of them.
Accusing BJP of always being indifferent to the development of the state which was created after hundreds of people sacrificed their lives for the sake of statehood, a memorandum submitted by the delegation said even the first interim government headed by BJP strengthened the foundation of corruption and scams in the state rather than working for its development.
Prominent among scams into which probe has been demanded by the party in power include the land scam and the Kumbh scam.
