Chhattisgarh Congress today dissolved its all units after the Assembly and Lok Sabha polls' debacle in the state.
Pradesh Congress Committee chief Bhupesh Baghel today dissolved the block, district and state level units of the party to facilitate reformation of new units, party state spokesperson Shailesh Nitin Trivedi told PTI.
"Very soon new working bodies will be formed keeping in mind the current political situation in the state," he said.
Congress had suffered a severe loss in the recently-concluded general elections at the hands of ruling BJP, where it could manage to win only one Lok Sabha seat, out of the 11.
Moreover, party's heavyweights, including former chief minister Ajit Jogi and former union minister Charandas Mahant tasted defeat in the Lok Sabha polls.
Party's dismal performance in both the polls had prompted senior party leaders to put their demand before the high command to dissolve the working body of the party in the state and remove the state chief Bhupesh Baghel.
Following the directives from the party high command today, Baghel dissolved all the party units in the state, party sources said, adding decision will be take soon on reformation of new units keeping in mind several factors.
