Congress MLAs today started their three-day protest in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly complex, a day after the monsoon session was wound up in two days instead of the scheduled five days.
Congress lawmakers, wearing black badges on arms, reached the Assembly around 11 AM and held a 'Janata Ki Adalat' (people's court) for two hours to highlight the issues they wanted to raise through a no-confidence motion.
The no-confidence motion was not taken up during the session.
One of the Congress MLAs sat in the middle of the 'court', wearing headphones like the Speaker does. His mouth was taped and he was wearing a blindfold.
Congress legislators spoke on various issues during the two-hour protest.
Leader of Opposition Ajay Singh said that a Janata Ki Adalat would also be convened tomorrow -- the second day of the protest -- where a 'charge sheet' against the ministers would be presented.
After the monsoon session was adjourned sine die yesterday, the Congress had accused the Speaker of doing the ruling BJP's bidding.
