Cong leader Ishfaq Jabbar joins NC

Congress leader Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar today joined National Conference along with his supporters in presence of Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
Welcoming Ishfaq in the party fold, Omar expressed hope that he would work with enthusiasm and energy to give fillip to the policy programme of the party.
"Ishfaq's joining will give impetus to the over all development of Ganderbal Constituency," Omar said in a statement issued by the party.
The NC announced Jabbar's joining through its twitter page and posted a photograph of the former Congress leader with Omar.
Jabbar had contested 2008 Assembly polls on Congress ticket against Omar from Ganderbal constituency.
Son of former minister Sheikh Abdul Jabbar, he had quit a job in police to contest the last Assembly polls.

Omar, who is also working president of National Conference, said his party will always encourage and support well meaning and young politicians.
Describing his joining NC as "home coming", Ishfaq reposed faith in the policy, programme of NC and the vision and ability of its leadership.
"National Conference stands for unity, brotherhood and amity of the three regions of the state and various sections of the society," he said.
