Cong leader's brother murdered

The brother of a local Congress leader and former Deputy Mayor Raziya Sultana was brutally murdered by five unidentified assailants who broke into his residence in North East Delhi's Seelampur area, police said today.
According to the police, the deceased, who had around 14 cases of murder, rape, robbery and dacoity registered against him, has been identified as Saleem (35).
The incident took place in J block locality in Seelampur area at around 9:30 PM on Wednesday when five unidentified armed men barged into his house and pumped bullets into his body. When he collapsed, they picked up a heavy object and smashed it on his head," a senior police officer said.

Saleem was rushed to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital where he was declared brought dead, he added.
The victim used to stay alone in the house.
Personal rivalry could be a reason behind the murder and efforts are on to apprehend the culprits, police said.
