Reacting to former Congress Minister and five-time-MLA Vijayendra Singh's allegations that performance of the government led by Virbhadra Singh during the past two years is "dismal", Congress leaders Thakur Ram Lal and Harsh Mahajan today said that the accusations were "preposterous and politically motivated".
In a joint statement issued here, the two former ministers dismissed the allegations as "false and frivolous" and said Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh has an "unblemished political career of over five decades".
Vijayendra Singh had yesterday, in a letter to Virbhadra, said that the government's performance was devoid of any significant achievement.
Questioning the time chosen by Vijayendra to make the allegations, Ram Lal and Mahajan said it seems that he has chosen to go public at the time when BJP was holding its state-level core panel meeting at Nalagarh.
They said that it seems that the former minister was acting at the behest of some vested interests and has joined political adversaries to tarnish the chief minister's image.
