Mohammed Sidique, a first time MLA, stood up during Zero Hour to drew attention of the House towards his Bhadaur Assembly constituency in Barnala district.
While he started speaking, Speaker Charanjit Singh Atwal interrupted him asking the folk singer to put a pointed question rather than coming out with several problems of his area.
Noting that opposition members were putting a lot many questions during the Zero Hour, Leader of the House and Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal said, "It appears everything can happen in Zero Hour."
He then requested Sidique to sing and the Speaker too supported the suggestion.
"I am lucky that such a demand has come from none other than Badal," Sidique said, and sang in Punjabi.
As the Speaker appreciated Sidique's song, Badal commented that the opposition members should have brought orchestra party in the House.

Earlier, former Punjab Minister Tota Singh (SAD) expressed concern over habit of drugs among youths in the state.
Aruna Chaudhary (Cong) drew the attention of the House towards illegal liquor vends running in her constituency.
Ashwini Sekhri (Cong) said drug flow in border areas was alarming and suggested setting up a special monitoring committees to check it.
Virsa Singh Valtoha (SAD), however, blamed the central agencies including the BSF for failing to check flow of drugs from across the border. "BSF officials are involved in drug peddling," he said.
