Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit today asked all Congress MLAs in the city to extend their cooperation in ensuring victory of NSUI candidates in the upcoming Delhi University Students Union polls.
At meeting with party MLAs, Dikshit exhorted them to introduce NSUI candidates to the students in their areas so that all candidates of the party's youth wing come out victorious in the election slated for September 13.
"We must extend our cooperation in ensuring victory of the NSUI candidates in Delhi University Students Union polls," she told the MLAs.
Last week, DPCC president J P Agarwal had also asked block and district Congress presidents to help the NSUI candidates in winning the election.
The Chief Minister said victory in the DUSU polls will act as a morale booster for the party ahead of the assembly polls slated for November.
She said Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi was looking after functioning of NSUI and ensuring victory of candidates backed by the youth wing of Congress was a "major responsibility" of all party workers.
