As many as six Congress MLAs, including two chief parliamentary secretaries, have written to the party high command, expressing dissatisfaction over the government's handling of the case of alleged gangrape and murder of a school girl here.
HPCC president Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu today said a letter has been received but refused to divulge the name of the signatories and the exact contents of the letter.
According to Sukhu, the MLAs have warned that the mishandling of the case can have adverse impact on the party's fate in the upcoming assembly polls, which is slated to be held later this year.
The miffed MLAs have reportedly said that "some casual remarks" regarding the case by Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and posting of pictures of some accused on his Facebook account and their deletion have cast shadow on the government.
It was alleged that the minor girl had gone to school on July 5, but did not return home. Her body was found in the morning of July 6 from a nearby forest.
On a complaint lodged by her father with Kotkhai police station, an FIR was registered against unknown persons.
