Anant Vikram Singh, estranged son of Rajya Sabha member and Congress leader Sanjay Singh, who was arrested in connection with murder of a police official here, has charged his father with hatching a conspiracy against him.
Anant was today arrested in the case relating to the murder of police constable Vijay Kumar Mishra who was killed in September last year during firing outside the Bhupati Bhawan, whose ownership is being claimed by several people of the Amethi's royal family, Superintendent of Police Heera Lal said.
Mishra was part of police deployment outside the Bhawan in Ramnagar area last year when a dispute broke out over the ownership of the property, in which FIR was registered against hundreds of persons including Anant, the SP said.
A local court had issued a non-bailable warrant against Anant, Lal said adding that a case was registered under 120 B (conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code and he has been sent to jail on 14 days judicial custody.
Meanwhile, talking to newspersons at the Piparpur police station where he was taken after the arrest, Anant charged his father Sanjay Singh and his second wife Amita Singh with hatching a conspiracy to get him arrested.
"I have been arrested under a conspiracy and this is the conspiracy of Amita Singh and my father," he said.
