He also accused the previous Congress government of delaying the construction of SYL canal.
Vij said the meeting was called yesterday in Chandigarh for devising a strategy on SYL issue after Punjab government decided to bring a bill to de-notify land acquired for construction of the canal and return those to owners.
The Congress' decision to stay away from the meeting was a "political stunt" for which it has to reply to the people of Haryana, the Minister said, adding that they should have joined hands with other political parties to make Haryana's voice stronger in support of SYL which is the life line of the state.
He asked former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda to clarify whether Virender Singh, his aide, who was purportedly found instigating the crowd during Jat stir, belonged to Congress.
