Punjab unit of Congress today slammed SAD-BJP government's proposed move to hire film stars as brand ambassadors saying it aims to portray a rosy picture of Punjab despite the coalition's failure on all fronts.
Punjab Congress Chief Partap Singh Bajwa said martyrs like Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev were the real brand ambassadors of the state.
"I fail to understand what Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal wishes to show the world by projecting film stars as the brand ambassadors of Punjab," said Bajwa in a statement here.
Punjab Cabinet had recently decided to hire film stars as brand ambassadors for highlighting its policies and programmes.
The PPCC president said that any sort of public relation exercise would not improve the "sagging" image of SAD-BJP government unless good governance was given to people.
The SAD-BJP government has proved a failure on all fronts, he said.
