Rajasthan School Education Minister Vasudev Devnani alleged today that the opposition Congress was politicising the issue of fee hike in private schools.
The BJP government is strict against arbitrary fees charged by private schools and a law in this regard was passed in the Assembly. But, the Congress is not interested in solving the people's problems and is doing politics on the issue, Devnani said at a press conference here today.
He claimed that Rajasthan was the first state in the country to bring the Rajasthan Schools (Regulation of Fee) Act and implement it.
He said that fee assessment committees had been constituted in 26,000 schools of the state and parents were part of the committee.
District education officers have been directed to ensure that provisions of the Act are implemented, the minister added.
