A meeting of the Congress manifesto committee was chaired by former Union home minister Sushilkumar Shinde at Tilak Bhavan, which is the Congress Maharashtra state unit headquarters here, today morning, party sources said.
Shinde has created three "sub-groups" entrusting the task of identifying issues concerning Mumbai to city unit chief Janardhan Chandurkar, party sources said.
Maharashtra Health Minister Suresh Shetty will head the sub-group on health-related issues, while Member of Legislative Council Anant Gadgil will head the sub-group on youth and youth-related issues, party sources said.
Sources said that these sub-groups have been asked to submit their suggestions by September 2.
"The draft manifesto is likely to be finalised by September 5," sources said.
