PPCC President Partap Singh Bajwa alleged the SAD-BJP government has failed to establish its credibility among investors, who have refraining to enter in Punjab due to "deteriorating law and order and corruption".
Most of the existing industries are already shifting to states like Gujarat and the new industrial policy will "trigger the exodus", he claimed.
"The Tata group had approached Punjab government to set up its car manufacturing unit here but they shifted to Gujarat due to lack of positive response," he alleged.
"Since Punjab is a land locked state, promoting small scale industry would have been the best option to boost state's economy and provide employment to the skilled youth," he said.
Bajwa said the tax incentives announced will prove to be counter-productive "in the absence of conducive environment" for new investment.
