tna November 10, 2012 19:15 IST Arvind Kejriwal was today accused of being interested only in defaming people and also called "mentally sick" by the Congress and the RJD, a day after the activist fired another salvo as part of his campaign against corruption.

Scores of activists of Kejriwal's India Against Corruption (IAC) were, meanwhile, briefly detained by police in Mumbai while staging a protest outside the family home of the Ambani brothers to demand a probe into alleged parking of black money by them in a Swiss bank.

A few IAC activists also held a protest at the Mumbai headquarters of the HSBC, which has been accused by Kejriwal of engaging in money laundering, a charge denied by Britain's largest institutional bank.

Congress hit out at Kejriwal for levelling charges of financial wrongdoing against people through the media and alleged that his only aim is to defame people.

"If he (Kejriwal) has any evidence he should go to the government or any government agency. Merely by levelling allegations before the media he can only defame somebody but cannot get anything substantial out of it. This shows that he is only interested in defaming people," Congress spokesperson Rashid Alvi told reporters in Delhi.

He challenged that if Kejriwal has any genuine documents then he should hand them over to the government.

"If anybody has done anything wrong law will take its own course," Alvi said.

Making fresh allegations, Kejriwal yesterday accused multinational HSBC Bank of indulging in money laundering and claimed that Ambani brothers, Jet Airways Chairman Naresh Goyal and Congress MP Anu Tandon had parked their blackmoney in its Geneva branch.

Alvi also said that Kejriwal should disclose the name of the leader who revealed the details after the activist had said the source of his fresh allegations was a newly inducted minister in the Union Cabinet.

Kejriwal also faced flak from RJD president Lalu Prasad who dubbed him an 'agent of America'.

"Kejriwal is an agent of America who on the pretext of running an NGO is dancing to the tunes that country," Prasad said, addressing his 'Parivartan rally' at Kisanganj in Bihar.

Targeting Kejriwal as well as BJP President Nitin Gadkari, Prasad said they were 'mentally ill' and needed to get 'cured' at Baba Ramdev's yoga camp.
