Nomination of Mohd Akbar a sitting MLA from a neighbouring constituency of Pandariya at the last minute, rejecting the claim of Yogeshwar Raj Singh, the heir of the erstwhile Kawardha royal estate here, has caused some heartburn in a section of Congress workers here.
The reason for nominating a Muslim face was taken after seeing Akbar's social involvement and work done for the people of Pandariya, Congress leaders here said.
BJP has also not given ticket to its sitting MLA from the constituency Siyaram Sahu, who had defeated Yogeshwar Raj Singh by 10,408 votes in 2008 assembly election.
Yogeshwar Raj Singh, also called Rajaji, claimed he was assured of a ticket to contest assembly polls by Congrees but later, his name was not there in the list.
