BJP today accused Congress of "spreading lies" about Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje's links with former IPL chief Lalit Modi to get "cheap publicity", saying such a trend is not good for democracy.
BJP also charged Congress with being 'anti-development' and 'anti-reforms' as it was doing such "cheap politics" to "derail" government's agenda of initiating good governance and development.
"Without doing its homework properly, Congress is trying to spread lies to gain cheap publicity. Such a trend is not good for democracy," BJP's national secretary Shrikant Sharma said.
He alleged Congress is "anti-development" and "anti-reforms" as it wants to "derail" government's agenda of providing good governance and development.
Sharma charged Congress is good at 'acting' as it "spreads lies in its bid to change the truth" in the Lalit Modi controversy issue.
"Congress is good at acting and is talking fiction and should instead take out 'Serial Fraud' out of such lies as its dirty tricks department is good at spreading disinformation which is away from facts," he said.
The BJP leader said Congress has "failed" to provide good governance and was attempting to "derail" this government's attempts at doing so.
On the allegations against Raje, he charged Congress is also trying "to misinterpret court judgements only to spread lies and truth in its bid to change the reality."
Dismissing BJP's denials, Congress has persisted with its demand for Raje's sacking saying there is a "criminal nexus" between her family and former IPL boss.
