The Congress today accused BJP MP Rajeev Chandrasekhar of pursuing his business interests while being a parliamentarian saying it amounted to "conflict of interest".

"It is clean politics that you do? Is it a healthy political practice to allow politicians to use their office to push their business interests," Congress leader Pawan Khera said at a press conference.

Chandrasekhar was, however, not available for comments despite repeated attempts to reach him.

Khera claimed Chandrasekhar is the founder of an investment firm managing a portfolio with investments in defence-related companies.

He alleged the company has a subsidiary providing technology solutions to aerospace, defence and heavy engineering sectors and others.

"He has been a member of the Parliament's Standing Committee on Defence. This not only gives him legitimised access to sensitive information but also gives him a decisive voice on matters of India's Defence planning, strategy and expenditure," he claimed.
