The decision to launch the mass contact programme, either in September or October, was taken at a meeting of Punjab Congress leaders with party vice president Rahul Gandhi here today.
Sources said the top Congress leaders discussed the party's present position in Punjab which goes to polls early next year and its preparedness to take on the ruling Akali-BJP combine and the AAP which is becoming a potent force.
Congress' state unit is also planning to launch an agitational programme with former PCC chief Partap Singh Bajwa launching one in favour of farmers' demands from August 26 in Gurdaspur.
The new campaign comes after "Halke Vich Captain" and "Coffee with Captain" initiatives.
The aim is to reach out to more and more people and put across the Congress' point of view and the track record of Amarinder Singh as Chief Minister.
Congress has been out of power in the state for the last 10 years.
