Cong to sent fact-finding team to Varanasi

A three-member team of Congress will visit Varanasi on October 16 to find out the truth behind the arrest of party legislator Ajay Rai after the violence during 'Pratikar march' earlier this month.
Members of the fact-finding team will meet common people, party leaders and Swami Avimuktershwaranad Saraswati to find out the truth behind the violence during the 'Anyay Pratikar March' on October 5 by saints to protest against lathicharge by police during Ganesh immersion and subsequent lodging of cases against Congress leaders and arrest of Ajay Rai, a party spokesman said.
The team, led by former Union minister Sri Prakash Jaiswal, will have senior leaders Pradip Jain Aditya and Pradip Mathur as its member.
It will submit its report to the UPCC president Nirmal Khatri for chalking out the party's future strategy, he said.
The spokesman claimed that the local administration was informed about the protest march beforehand.
They booked 105 people including Congress leaders, who were trying to restore peace and order, to hide their incapability while there was no mention of anyone from BJP, VHP or Bajrang Dal who took part in the yatra, he alleged.
