AICC General Secretary Shakeel Ahmed, who is in charge of party affairs in the state, indicated that Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda will be contesting from only one seat.
Reports earlier had it that Hooda, who has been at the helm for 10 long years, could contest from two seats.
"There was no such proposal either from the Chief Minister or the PCC or from any other quarter," he said.
Party sources said that the list, which will be released in a day or two, will be a mix of youth and experience amid efforts to give representation to all sections including women, minorities and weaker sections.
