Delhi Congress president Ajay Maken today claimed that the party candidates are getting overwhelming support from the people during campaigning in all the 13 wards for the May 15 MCD by-elections.
"Response of the voters towards the Congress candidates is a clear indication that the party would win the MCD by-elections with thumping margins," he said.
Party leaders exuded hope of outperforming their opponents BJP and AAP candidates on at least six seats including Munirka, Nawada, Shalimar Bagh, Ballimaran, Qamaruddin Nagar. They also hoped of victory of the party rebel Rajender Tanwar from Bhai ward.
"People of Delhi are fed up with the misrule of the Aam Aadmi Party and the BJP as these parties had made many tall promises to the people, only to let them down and betray as no ground level work has been done for the development of Delhi," Maken said.
He also alleged that the law and order situation in Delhi has "worsened" and the pressing problems of the people have remained "unaddressed".
Congress has fielded candidates from all the 13 wards lying under the North, South, and East Delhi Municipal Corporation.
