The by-polls were held on February 12.
Congresscandidate from Chembugudde ward Basil D'Souza defeated hisrival BJP candidate Satish Chembugudde, while in Kallapu ward, Usman Kallapu defeated BJP candidate Chandrahas Pandithouse.
In the elections held in Ullal in 2013, D'Souza and Usman who were elected from the respective wards, were later disqualified after their rivals raised objections stating that the two had not submitted affidavits on criminal cases pendingagainst them.
The local court upheld the objections raised and Basil and Usman were disqualified and fresh elections were ordered in both the wards.
The municipality was being run by the Congress for the last several years.
